The paper provides grounds for the effectiveness of combined rail lubrication technology for Russian railways. The dependence of the friction factor on the rolling surfaces of the rail heads on the guiding force is shown. As a result of the conducted research, it is found out that the use of combined rail lubrication technology reduces lateral forces, which are derived from guiding forces, by 18%.
