Two fundamentally different designs of a passenger carriage truck with different shock absorbing systems are considered, namely, a joint shock absorbing system (as for TVZ-CNII-M truck models) and a separate shock absorbing system (as for 68–4095 truck model). Based on the analysis of the features of these systems and the operation principle of the hydraulic shock absorber, its main disadvantages and ways to increase its service life are found out.
